We are a private family in Edmonton, AB seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Support Worker to provide personal care for our elderly parents.

Position: Home Support Worker
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Working hours per week: 40

Job Responsibilities
- Providing attentive and compassionate bedside care, ensuring the elderly are comfortable and treated with dignity.
- Accurately administering medications as prescribed, keeping track of schedules and monitoring side effects or interactions.
- Assisting the elderly with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing and grooming, carried out safely and respectfully.
- Encouraging and assisting with regular physical activities, like walking, tailored to the elderly's abilities to promote health and mobility.
- Feeding or assisting in feeding the elderly, focusing on meeting their dietary needs and making mealtimes enjoyable.
- Preparing and serving nutritious meals, considering elderly dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe living environment for the elderly.
- Laundering clothing and household linens, ensuring the elderly always have access to clean and comfortable items.
- Supporting mobility both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety and providing support.
- Managing medical or other appointments, including transportation, and accompanying them.
- Reporting any significant changes to family members or healthcare professionals about the elderly's health and behavior.
- Maintaining detailed records of care provided, health changes, and daily activities to ensure a comprehensive and informed approach to caregiving.
Job Requirements
- Secondary school certificate.
- Relevant education.
- 1-2 years of experience in home care or similar role.
- Empathy and dedication to elder care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work responsibly and as part of a family team.
