Position Description

Position: Plumber                                                                                                                                              

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Salary: $35.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to plan the layout of plumbing systems for water supply, waste, and venting.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools to required lengths and angles.
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential and commercial settings, including sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and drainage systems.
  • Identify and mark the location of pipes, passage holes, and plumbing fixtures before installation.
  • Cut openings in walls, ceilings, and floors to accommodate pipe and fixture installations while preserving structural integrity.
  • Test installed systems using air and water pressure gauges to detect leaks and ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues such as low water pressure, blocked drains, leaking pipes, or faulty fixtures.
  • Provide estimates for material and labour costs when needed and track usage of materials on the job.
  • Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, site supervisors, and team members to coordinate work and resolve issues.
  • Document all service and installation work by completing job sheets, reports, and logs.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working order and keep the job site clean and organized.
  • Offer basic customer service by advising clients on maintenance, repair options, and system care.

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School.
  • Relevant education OR minimum 2 year of experience.
  • Trade certification in plumbing would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to schedule work in a way that maximizes efficiency and meets deadlines.
  • Ability to identify issues and determine how to correct them.
