Job Description:
The Huang family is seeking a compassionate and responsible Child Caregiver to provide dedicated care and support for our children in a private home setting. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, attentive, and capable of creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment.
Responsibilities:
Childcare Duties:
1. Provide attentive, full-day supervision of children in a safe, nurturing environment
2. Dress, bathe, and feed infants and young children according to their developmental needs
3. Change diapers and assist with toilet training as appropriate
4. Escort children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and medical appointments
5. Plan and facilitate enriching activities such as outdoor play, crafts, reading, and educational games
6. Assist with homework and encourage age-appropriate learning and development
7. Follow parenting preferences for discipline and behavioral guidance
8. Teach and reinforce personal hygiene habits such as handwashing, brushing teeth, and dressing
9. Observe and record any health issues, mood changes, or unusual behavior and report them to parents
10. Offer emotional support, promote confidence, and create a positive environment
Household & Support Tasks:
1. Prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals and snacks tailored to the children’s dietary needs
2. Maintain cleanliness in children’s areas, including bedrooms, playrooms, and eating spaces
3. Perform light household cleaning such as laundry, tidying up toys, and wiping down surfaces
4. Accompany the family on domestic or international trips, providing supervision and assistance as needed
5. Manage the household routine independently during parents’ absence, ensuring children’s needs are fully met
Qualifications and Requirements:
Completion of high school or equivalent
Proven experience as a caregiver or in a related role
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
A clear criminal record check
Patient, loving, and reliable nature
Optional (but an asset):
Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification
Work Setting:
Employer’s private home
