Job Summary:
We are currently hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our construction team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, installing, repairing, and finishing wood and wood-substitute structures and fixtures. Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
- Construct, install, and repair structures such as walls, floors, roofs, stairs, cabinets, doors, and windows.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Fit and install trim, hardware, and finishing materials.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite in accordance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as plumbers, electricians, and supervisors.
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Completion of a 3- to 4-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over 4 years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry.
- Proven experience as a carpenter in residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy materials.
