Nature of position: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
Wage: $40.00 per hour
Vacation: 10 days annually

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites at all times
- Assist with other carpentry and general construction tasks onsite
- Prepare cost estimates for clients
- Represent the company in client-facing work
REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:
- Completion of secondary school
- Experience using carpentry tools and hand and power tools
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Familiarity with all types of concrete finishing
- Class 5 driver’s license is required
- First Aid (Level 1) is an asset
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 150 lbs.

- Attention to detail, including ability to multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with changing deadlines and priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
