Ruby Renovations is a Surrey BC based Construction and Renovation company started in 2016. We undertake both commercial and residential construction and renovation work.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tile Setter (Tile Installer) to join our growing team in Surrey, BC. This role involves a variety of tile installation tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in physically demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
- Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, and other adhesives using hand trowels
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure for adhesion
- Align and straighten tiles precisely
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power tools
- Apply grout and remove excess
- Replace cracked or damaged tiles
- Lay mosaic tiles to create decorative walls, murals, and floor designs
- Cut, polish, and install marble and granite
- Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
- Install tile strips
Supervision Responsibilities
- May supervise a small team (1 to 2 people)
Work Environment
- Exposure to dust, odours, and noise
- Physically demanding work including bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting
- Requires attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and ability to distinguish between colours
Qualifications
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience preferred
