Masala Tree exemplifies an exclusive blend of traditional and radical renditions of Indian cuisine, which is rooted in the gravitas of the unique Indian spices, aromas and flavors. We are looking for Ethnic Cook to join our restaurant.

Position: Ethnic Cook

Terms of employment: Permanent / Full Time

Salary: $35.50/ hour for 32 hours per week

Language: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to 2 years experience in the relevant field.

Job Description:

• Be able to cook Ethnic Indian food.
• Plan portion sizes and calculate food cost.
• Take full responsibility to prepare and cook complete meals or specific dishes like Fish curry, Butter chicken etc and foods.
• Check the freshness and quality of ingredients.
• Be able to customize dishes to accommodate customers with allergies and food intolerance.
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques’ and safe handling practices.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
• Manage orders of supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate and organize buffets and other services.
• Oversee and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Be able to present high-quality food and presentation to enhance customer satisfaction

Physical stamina (be able to handle physically demanding tasks like stirring, chopping, and lifting)
Creativity (innovating new recipes and improving traditional one) , Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Be able to handle high pressure situations calmly, Team player , Customer focus
