Responsibilities:
- Oversee, manage, and organize daily operations of staff involved in food preparation, portioning, and service.
- Calculate and requisition necessary food ingredients and materials for meal production.
- Compile food order instructions for kitchen staff based on requests from healthcare professionals, patients, or other clients.
- Create and implement staff work schedules and workflow procedures to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Keep accurate records of inventory, equipment maintenance, product sales, and food waste.
- Instruct employees on job responsibilities, hygiene regulations, and workplace safety standards.
- Monitor and verify the preparation of standard and special diet meal trays, as well as the accurate distribution of food carts to hospital patients.
- Ensure all food products and customer service consistently meet established quality benchmarks.
- May be involved in hiring food service personnel and contribute to the formulation of departmental policies, operational guidelines, and budgeting.
- May assist with meal planning for cafeteria menus and evaluate associated food and staffing expenses.
- Conduct routine inspections of food preparation and service areas to ensure compliance with public health regulations.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints to maintain service satisfaction and operational efficiency.
