Responsibilities
Tasks
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of company truck drivers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Plan driver schedules and assign routes based on load requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor driver logs, inspection reports, and hours of service compliance.
- Conduct safety meetings and ensure drivers follow transportation regulations.
- Oversee loading and unloading operations to ensure proper cargo handling.
- Communicate with dispatchers, clients, and drivers to resolve delivery issues.
- Maintain records of mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance for fleet reporting.
- Train new drivers on company policies, routes, and safety procedures.
- Inspect vehicles and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance department.
- Ensure all documentation such as bills of lading and delivery receipts are completed accurately.
