Responsibilities
Tasks
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual food items ensuring quality, taste, and presentation meet standards.
- Design menu, plan meal offerings and set appropriate portion sizes.
- Evaluate food requirements and manage inventory, tracking supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment to avoid shortages.
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate schedules and supervise kitchen staff.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, monitor food preparation, and maintain a high standard of efficiency and hygiene.
- Organize and manage buffet setups, ensuring attractive presentation and adequate food quantities for service.
- Clean, sanitize, and arrange kitchen equipment and workspaces, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, proper cooking methods, and safe food handling.
