Salary: $21.00 per hour
The Health Care Aide will:
- Provide personal care and daily living assistance, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding residents with compassion and dignity.
- Support residents’ mobility and safety, by repositioning, transferring, or assisting them with wheelchairs and walking ais throughout the facility.
- Monitor and document vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature and pulse; observe and report changes in residents’ health conditions.
- Assist with mealtimes, including serving meal trays, helping residents with menu selection, and providing feeding assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including making beds, tidying resident rooms, restocking supplies, and ensuring equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Collect specimens (e.g. urine, stool, sputum, blood) for testing and ensure timely transport to relevant departments.
- Respond promptly to call bells and resident needs, ensuring timely and respectful care.
- Transport residents safely to medical appointments, therapy sessions or between care areas within or outside the facility.
- Collaborate with nursing and care staff, following instructions for basic procedures (e.g. enemas, suppositories) and contributing to the coverall care plan.
- Support recreational and therapeutic activities, encouraging residents’ participation in exercise and social programs within or outside the facility.
Employment requirement:
- Secondary school education
- 7-12 months of experience as a Health Care Aide
- English is a must
