Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of the store's retail area, ensuring seamless coordination between fresh produce, plant offerings, and garden supplies.
- Lead and coach the team, assigning duties across cash handling, stocking, and customer inquiries.
- Monitor local market trends for fresh produce and plants to adjust offerings and pricing to maximize appeal.
- Curate product selection ranging from seasonal vegetables and herbs to gardening supplies and establish pricing and promotional standards.
- Build and nurture relationships with regional growers and suppliers to secure high-quality inventory at competitive rates.
- Implement creative marketing strategies, such as seasonal signage or local promotions, to drive foot traffic.
- Develop and manage budgets, authorize purchase orders, track inventory costs, and ensure revenue goals are met.
- Uphold excellent customer service by assisting customers with produce choices, gardening advice, or special requests.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and retention of seasonal and permanent staff to support fluctuating demands during peak seasons.
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 1 – 2 years of related supervising experience.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities.
- Have good communication skills.
