Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker to provide dedicated care for an elderly family member. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily living activities, ensuring safety, and maintaining a clean and comfortable living environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, and assisting with mobility.
Support in daily activities such as walking, sitting, exercising, and companionship.
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs.
Administer medications on time and maintain health routines.
Assist with hygiene and ensure the surroundings are safe and obstacle-free.
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Provide emotional support and companionship.
Perform any other related caregiving duties as required.
Job Requirements
Completion of secondary school is required.
Previous experience in home care or caregiver role is an asset.
CPR/First Aid certification considered an advantage.
Ability to communicate in English.
Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
Terms of Employment
Wage: $23.00 per hour (equivalent to $805.00 per week).
Work Schedule: 35-40 hours per week.
Overtime Rate: $34.50 per hour after 40 hours/week.
Vacation: 4% of gross salary (equivalent to 2 weeks per year).
Days Off: 2 days per week.
Sick Leave: 14 days paid sick leave per year.
No deductions for accommodations; this is a live-out arrangement.
Paid bi-weekly or monthly by cheque/direct deposit.
Employment Conditions
Must be able to work in a private home setting.
Criminal record check required.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (LMIA available for qualified foreign workers).
