Job Responsibilities:
Find and assess suppliers for ingredients, kitchen equipment, packaging, and other necessary items for the restaurant.
Work on vendor contracts to maintain a good work flow for supplying to current vendors as well as the purchasing side.
Compare prices and quality of goods and services to ensure the best value for the business.
Negotiate contracts or supervise contract negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms.
Help define product needs by working with others to determine specifications for food items, equipment, or potential substitutes.
Develop and manage purchasing policies and ensure the purchasing budget is followed.
Oversee and evaluate purchasing operations to ensure efficiency and alignment with business goals.
Handle supplier issues, including reviewing and resolving complaints or problems with delivered goods.
