Job Requirements
Languages:
Education:
- College Diploma or degree in supply chain, business, food industry management, or related field.
Experience:
- 2 years to less than 3 years in a food manufacturing or food distribution environment
- Familiarity with food ingredients, packaging, and supplier markets in Asia is an asset.
- Food manufacturing and wholesale distribution facility
- On-site location (Scarborough, ON)
- Full-time, On-site
- Work must be completed at the physical location. Remote work is not available for this position.
- May require occasional early morning or evening calls with overseas suppliers in Asia, with flexible scheduling.
- Purchase ingredients, raw materials, spices, sauces, and packaging materials required for production of Thai and Vietnamese food products.
- Assess production requirements and develop specifications for food and packaging supplies.
- Invite quotations, compare suppliers, and negotiate price, quality, and delivery terms.
- Establish delivery schedules, monitor progress, and resolve supply chain or logistics issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and assist in managing inventory levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with local and overseas suppliers (Asia, including Thailand and Vietnam).
- Ensure that all supplies comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Occasionally coordinate across different time zones when dealing with overseas suppliers.
