Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (30 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $36.60 per hour

                                    A bonus may be paid from time-to-time, at the sole discretion of the restaurant manager.

 

Vacation:                     10 days

 

Language required:     English, spoken and written

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Plan and organize daily operations
  • Set staff work schedules
  • Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
  • Modify menu prices according to the restaurant budget
  • Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
  • Control and maintain inventory
  • Understanding of brewery / distillery functions, bottling, canning, excise tax filings
  • Understand brewery / distillery production rules and legislation
  • Ability to promote Brewery and Distillery products for off sales.
  • Plan and organize events including DJ nights, bands and other entertainment.
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor, health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
  • Provide customer service
  • Oversee staff training
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Completion of a post-secondary education
  • A minimum of two years of restaurant bar-bar-nightclub management or supervisory experience
  • Have Serving it Right and Food Safe Certification
  • Personal suitability
  • Team player
  • Be available to work late nights on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Be able to taste and create alcoholic beverages
