Position Overview – Store Supervisor (Stoney Creek)

The Store Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily shop operations, supporting and motivating frontline staff, and ensuring that every customer receives professional, timely, and friendly service. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and contributes positively to our workplace culture. This role works closely with management to coordinate workflow, maintain service standards, support training and development, and help the team achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of store staff, ensuring service efficiency, adherence to Mr. Lube procedures, and consistent delivery of high-quality customer service.
- Assign daily duties, prepare work schedules, and adjust staffing as required to support smooth shop operations and meet customer demand.
- Authorize transactions such as payments, refunds, and service adjustments, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Respond to issues that may arise throughout the day, including customer requests, service-related complaints, product shortages, or operational disruptions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for automotive supplies, lubricants, filters, and retail products and place orders or coordinate replenishment as needed.
- Prepare and maintain store-level reports including daily sales summaries, service volumes, inventory usage, and staff performance updates for management review.
- Assist with hiring needs, participate in onboarding and training new store staff, and monitor performance to support development and retention of a knowledgeable, customer-focused team.
- Ensure the store’s visual standards, signage, cleanliness, and overall appearance in both the retail area and service bays are consistently maintained in accordance with Mr. Lube brand guidelines.
- Support and occasionally perform front-line duties such as greeting customers, explaining services, or assisting with basic shop tasks to ensure service flow and demonstrate leadership.
- Perform key-holder and supervisory duties as required, including opening and closing the store, signing for deliveries, managing escalated customer concerns, and supporting local marketing or promotional activities.
- Collaborate with store staff to up-sell and cross-sell appropriate products and services based on customer needs and recommend maintenance practices.
- Communicate with vendors, confirm deliveries, and coordinate stock as required to ensure uninterrupted service operations.
- Perform other related duties as required to support effective store operations and uphold Mr. Lube’s commitment to exceptional customer care.
- Ensure health and safety requirements are being met, monitor and maintain equipment on site and report deficiencies.
- A strong desire to grow and develop, a quick learner.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Completion of secondary school.
- Relevant experience in retail, customer service, or a supervisory capacity is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, store staff, and management.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities, including motivating staff, delegating tasks effectively, and supporting team performance.
- Customer-service oriented with a clear understanding of how to deliver a positive and efficient service experience.
- Ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, and address issues proactively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve operational challenges and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
