Job Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and perform manual washing to ensure all dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with food safety standards
- Sort, organize, and properly store clean dishes, cookware, and service items in designated kitchen and storage areas
- Thoroughly clean pots, pans, trays, and other kitchen equipment, ensuring removal of food residue and grease
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of dishwashing stations, sinks, counters, and surrounding work areas throughout each shift
- Assist kitchen staff by ensuring a steady supply of clean serviceware during peak service periods
- Handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents safely, following WHMIS guidelines and workplace health and safety procedures
- Remove kitchen waste, food scraps, and recyclables regularly, keeping back-of-house areas clean and orderly
- Follow Cabot Cape Breton’s health, safety, and sanitation policies to support efficient kitchen operations and high service standards
Skills requirements:
- No Formal Education required
- Minimum One month of work experience as dishwasher
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
