Company Info: Early childhood education at Cambie Montessori Children Centre follows the framework of Montessori philosophy and practice. We recognize small children as feeling and thinking persons in the most dramatic stages of emotional and cognitive development, which is during the period from eighteen months to about eight years that the adult-to-come is shaped within the child; therefore, we consider it sensible to pay close attention to any and all sound theories and practices.
Job Duties:
- Developing and implementing creative activities based on our engaging curriculum to benefit children in physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
- Leading activities and engaging children by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, preparing crafts, and taking children to have indoor/outdoor activities
- Organizing activities to encouraging creativity through painting, singing, and role play
- Guiding children with proper behavior and forming children's eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Observing children and lead staff meeting to discuss children's growths and progress
- Observing and preparing report for potential behavioral or learning problem for parents/guardians and other community support workers
- Promoting open communication and working cooperatively and effectively as a team member and maintaining positive, friendly and cooperative relationships with each child's family
- Maintaining a safe and positive environment
- Supervise the activities of Early Childhood Educator and assistants
Qualifications:
- Completion of a college program in early childhood education or a bachelor's degree in child development is required
- BC Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate is required
- 2+ years of Previous work experience as an ECE is required
- A clear medical exam check and vulnerable sector check
- Ability to work in a team and self-motivated
- Detail oriented, energetic, and work with repetitive tasks
