A private household in Brampton is seeking a reliable and experienced Home Child Care Provider to care for three children aged 8 years, 7 years, and 10 months.
This position requires managing the care of an infant during the day while also supporting school-aged children before and after school. The role involves maintaining structured routines, ensuring safety, and supporting the developmental needs of children in a home environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, full-time care for a 10-month-old infant, including feeding, diapering, and nap routines
- Supervise and care for two school-aged children (ages 7 and 8) before and after school
- Prepare children for school (breakfast, dressing, lunch preparation)
- Assist with school drop-off and pick-up as required
- Help children with homework and educational activities
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities (educational, creative, and physical)
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the children
- Sterilize bottles and prepare infant meals
- Monitor children’s health and emotional well-being
- Maintain consistent daily routines for all children
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to the children only (laundry, cleaning play areas, organizing children’s belongings)
- Accompany children to appointments or activities as required
Requirements
- Secondary school diploma (minimum)
- Minimum 1 to 7 months of child care experience (experience with infants preferred)
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- Ability to manage care for multiple children of different age groups
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable, patient, and attentive
Work Setting
- Work will be performed in a private household in Brampton, Ontario
- Optional accommodation available (live-in optional; not a condition of employment)
Transportation
- Public transportation available
- Valid driver’s license is an asset but not mandatory
