Position Description
Position: Carpenter

Work Location: Various locations in Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver areas in BC.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $36.70 per hour
Overtime and Vacation Pay

Relocation Assistance: $1500.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions).
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
Instruct apprentices
Supervise other workers
Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
Job Requirements:
Languages:
• Fluency in English is required.
Education:
• No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year and less than 2 years of relevant work experience.
Location:
• This position is fully on-site; all duties must be performed at the designated workplace. Remote work is not permitted.
Work Setting:
• Work may take place at various locations.
• Relocation expenses are covered by the employer.
• Physical strength and endurance are necessary for handling heavy materials and working long hours.
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are required.
• Must be comfortable working at heights and outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
