Weston Wall Systems Ltd. specializes in drywall, steel stud, insulation, and acoustic ceiling solutions. We are seeking reliable & efficient skilled Steel Stud Framers to join our construction team. The Steel-stud Framer will work closely with other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time. JOB SUMMARY:
ü Position: Full-time, Permanent and non-seasonal
ü Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week
ü Work Location: In person; various construction sites in Metro Vancouver
ü Wage rate: CAD $38.00 per hour
ü Work timings are: Early morning, Evening, Morning, and Night (occasionally).
ü Position start date: As soon as possible
ü Minimum Education required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
ü Reliable, efficient and ability to work well in team, as well as independently.
ü Must be Canadian citizens, permanent or temporary residents of Canada or have a Canadian work permit (legally authorized to work in Canada).
Job Duties:
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Instruct & Supervise other workers & apprentices.
- Maintain, repair and renovate commercial establishments.
- Install exterior and interior steel studs
- Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
- Install door & window frames and other hardware
- Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
- Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
- Plan and prepare construction schedules forecast & material order, monitor progress & conduct review of project documents, and report to superintendent.
Work Experience requirement:
- Minimum 2 -3 years proven experience is essential.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation is required.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation is necessary.
- Expertise in Acoustic Ceiling & wall partitions installation is advantageous.
