Job Description
Imperial Medical Group Inc are currently looking for a Medical records manager on permanent, full-time basis.
Job Duties
Effectively and precisely plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of our company
Maintaining and secure all written and electronic medical records within our facility's medical records department. Ensure that information contained in the record is complete, accurate and only available to authorized personnel
Direct and advise staff engaged in providing records management, security, finance, purchasing, human resources or other administrative services
Administer and control budgets for contracts, equipment and supplies
Perform a variety of complex secretarial and administrative duties
Supervise, guide, motivate and evaluate other employees. Providing support to our doctors and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities
Enter and format electronically based medical reports and correspondence and prepare spreadsheets and documents
Set up, organise and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems
Maintain the effective operation and upkeep the office equipment, including photocopier, fax machine, Printers, computers and telephones
Greets, identifies and prepares patients for specified tests; labels specimens with required information and ensures safe disposal of sharps and other material as required
Arranges for the shipment of specimens to referral laboratories. Completes forms, packages specimens in accordance with safe procedures and regulations outlined in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. Contacts courier, air transport or alternate carriers
Perform light bookkeeping, prepare financial statements, general ledgers, and billing
Establish and maintain various internal office administrative support procedures such as document tracking and filing and monthly reporting
Order supplies and maintain inventory
Determine and establish office procedures and routines
Supervise and train receptionist staff in procedures and in use of current software
Employment requirements
A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration or a related administrative services field is required. Bachelor's degree in health information management will be preferred, but not mandatory
3-5 years of experience at a professional level in business administration, finance or administrative services is required. Prior experience in medical administration is preferred but not mandatory
Excellent communication skills in written and oral English are required
Excellent interpersonal & relationship building skills
Extremely organized, Excellent coordination & collaboration skills, Superior oral and written communication skills, Strong proficiency in English
Ability to handle confidential material and situations with tact and discretion
Strong ability to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned
