We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Finisher to join our team.
Job Duties:
Prepare, place, level, and finish freshly poured concrete for sidewalks, curbs, foundations, slabs, parking lots, and other structural concrete elements on municipal, commercial, and civil construction projects.
Inspect and prepare formwork, granular base, reinforcement materials, and concrete forms before concrete placement.
Operate power vibrators, screeds, floats, trowels, and other hand and power tools to compact and finish concrete.
Apply curing compounds, sealants, and surface treatments to ensure proper concrete strength and durability.
Install anchor bolts, embedded fixtures, and reinforcing components in freshly poured concrete, as required.
Repair, resurface, and restore damaged or deteriorated concrete surfaces.
Measure, align, and finish concrete surfaces according to project drawings, grades, and specifications.
Maintain concrete finishing tools, equipment, and construction work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Work collaboratively with supervisors and construction crew members to complete projects safely and on schedule.
Requirements:
Secondary school completion preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in concrete construction, concrete finishing, or related construction work is required.
Experience placing, finishing, curing, repairing, or resurfacing concrete, including concrete formwork and concrete placement on municipal, commercial, or civil construction projects.
Valid driver's licence is required.
Trade certification in Concrete Finishing or Cement Masonry is considered an asset.
Ability to safely operate concrete finishing tools and equipment and follow construction drawings, grades, and project specifications.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and performing physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Flexible to work weekends, statutory holidays, and overtime, as required.
