Wage: $30.00 per hour + 4% vacation pay
Hours: 30 hours per week

Job Duties
The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for:

• Support children with special needs in daily classroom activities and routines.
• Assist children with behavioural, emotional, developmental, or physical support needs.
•  Observe children’s behaviour and report concerns to supervisors and families.
• Help implement individualized learning and behaviour support plans.
• Provide one-on-one support to children when required.
• Encourage children’s social, emotional, and communication development.
• Adapt classroom activities and learning materials for children with different needs.
• Assist children with eating, dressing, toileting, and hygiene routines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work with parents, staff, and specialists to support children’s development.
• Prepare classroom materials and assist with activity planning.
• Follow daycare policies, safety procedures, and licensing regulations.

Education Requirements
• Completion of a recognized Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate program is required.
• ECE Certificate to Practice in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain).
• 7 months to less than 1 year experience required as an Early Childhood Education (ECE) andeducation or coursework in special needs is required.
• Additional education or coursework in child development, early childhood pedagogy, is considered an asset.

Other Requirements
• Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
